14 Days w/Desert Oasis Safari/Nile Cruise

Cairo/Luxor/Edfu/Kom-Ombo/Desert Oasis of Behriya, Dakhla/Kharga

Day 1 - Depart from New York for your destination 5,641 miles away - Cairo Egypt!

Day 2 - AH-LAHN!  Welcome to Egypt, land of many wonders.  On arrival you will be met and assisted through customs, then taken to your hotel.

Day 3 - This morning you will be  driven to Memphis, the ancient pharaonic capital of Lower Egypt.  The sights you will see include the beautiful Alabaster Sphinx and the carved Colossi of Ramses II.  You will then continue on to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramids of Zoser and the Tomb of the Sacred Bulls.  After a relaxing break at the famed Mena House (lunch optional), you will behold the famous great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. 

Day 4 - Today you will explore the world famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which hold an astonishing number of well preserved artifacts, including the Treasures of King Tutankhamen.(Mummy room is optional)  Other sights to see include the Citadel of Salah-El-Din and Mohammad Ali Mosque, where you can get a panoramic view of Cairo.

Day 5-8 - Begin your safari with an early morning departure by land.  Highlights of the safari will include: The Valley of the Golden Mummies, One night camping in the White Desert, a visit to the Black Desert, Tombs and Temples of the Oasis, Old Coptic Cemetery and Islamic Village.  You will end your safari in Luxor to begin your Nile Cruise.

Day 9 - This morning check onto your Nile Cruise and later visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.

Day 10 - After breakfast, you will cross the Nile River to the West Bank.  The sights you will see include the Colossi of Memnon, the Necropolis of Thebes, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and 3 tombs at the famed Valley of the Kings.(King Tut's Tomb is optional if it is open) After sightseeing of the West Bank, your Nile cruise will begin as the ship departs on a leisurely voyage to Aswan.

Day 11 - Your Nile cruise continues.  Along the way the ship will dock for sightseeing at Edfu. 

Day 12 - As your Nile cruise continues you will have sight seeing opportunities at Kom-Ombo.  You will arrive in Aswan and continue sightseeing at the Temple of Philae.  We will spend the night in Aswan.

Day 13 - This morning see the High Dam and granite quarries then return to Cairo by air.  The rest of the day is free for packing, relaxing, or optional excursions and/or shopping.

Day 14 - Early morning departure to New York.
